“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”— Ephesians 3:20 is a clear indication that for us to activate an avalanche of supernatural blessings in our lives, God’s power must be at work within us.
As I searched the scriptures this morning, I discovered five basic prerequisite for God’s power to dwell richly in us. These factors are keys to provoking God to do wonders in our lives and situations. I trust God that as we diligently observe to do them, our lives would be so better for it.
1.Prioritize the word: In Joshua 1:8 [“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”.] the Bible declares that daily meditating on the word of God is key to walking the word. When we search the scriptures concerning every of our situation and diligently walk the word, we are bound to prosper and succeed beyond expectations!
2.Devotion to prayer: To discern the mind of God concerning our situations, we need to constantly be in touch with Him. We need to commit our works into His able hands and trust Him with our heart desires concerning them. “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much”- James 5:16, so we need to pray without ceasing especially concerning His perfect will for us per time and totally trust Him in faith to make miracles of our lives!
3.Praise without ceasing: The Bible declares in Psalm 22:3 that God inhabits the praises of His people. When we worship God, His spirit abides in our hearts and He moves in our midst. Praise is more than just words. There is power in it. Through praise we activate our faith in answered prayers. Inspite of his shortcomings, David became the man after God’s own heart because he perfected the sacrifice of praise. Through all of the seasons in his life, he never forgot to thank the Lord for everything that he had. When we continually praise God, we move His hands to daily loads us with benefits!
4.Sow good seeds: The law of seed and harvest remains immutable. Every act of giving is sowing a seed. Whether material or immaterial, we should endeavour to always give of ourselves even when it’s not convenient knowing fully well that there is a reward for every act of kindness. “Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him”- Psalm 126:5&6. Whenever we give, we should do so with love and in full expectation of reaping in it multiple folds, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over!
5.Serve God diligently: Our service to God especially our labour of love in God’s vineyard is also key to provoking His blessings. “For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for His name in serving the saints, as you still do”- Hebrews 6:10. We are not saved by service, but we are saved for service. In God’s Kingdom, each of us have a place, a purpose, a role, and a function to fulfil. These are what give our lives great significance and value!
