It was a conversation I had with a friend before going to bed yesterday that got me thinking of how going to church these days is becoming more about tradition than about genuine worship. We oftentimes fail to realize that knowing about God and knowing Him are two different things. The ability to enjoy life and live it properly is a gift from God that comes only when we are in the right relationship with Him and sincerely submit to His will. It’s never about who we are, what position we occupy or the activities we do in church. It’s not even about how much of the scriptures we know. It’s about how much of them permeates our lives and truly reflects in our daily living! It’s about trusting Him with all our heart and acknowledging Him in all our ways – Proverbs 3:5&6! It’s about being obedient and willing to act on His words and wait on His promises even when we don’t understand why. True worship stems from our getting deeper into the understanding of who God is and that He’s a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. There’s more to it than going to church. It’s about meditating on and doing the Word! It’s about living a life of total consecration to God!
